MADISON – Today, the Sass Campaign questions Republican hopeful for State Treasurer Kurt Schuller’s claims to be part of the “Tea Party Movement,” but clearly reveals in a recent interview and on his website, he is positioning himself to become a career politician.
“My opponent vows to only run for one term and eliminate this office, but admits he is trying to kick start his future in politics by running for State Assembly or Senate. One Term? Nope. He’s ramping up efforts to become a career politician,” State Treasurer Dawn Marie Sass said.
During an October 6, 2010 interview with the Appleton Post-Crescent Newspaper, Schuller admits seeking out the position of State Treasurer because it is easy. “That’s an office it’s very low profile and uh pretty much very little money is spent on it to get elected to…” Schuller said.

While Schuller voices concerns the government is out for itself, rather than the citizens, he also writes on his website, “I am living MY dream—to get a seat at the table of government…. I hope I can build on the success of this goal and run for Assembly or Senate once the office of Treasurer has been eliminated.”http://www.schullerfortreasurer.com/faq
“I want to be your State Treasurer. That’s it. Nothing else. I want to continue working to give back money to Wisconsinites through our unclaimed property division. I want to continue to oversee one of the top education investment programs in the country to help citizens invest in the future education of their children,” Sass Said. “Kurt Schuller is not a guy looking to streamline government. He is not trying to put back money in the pockets of citizens. This is a guy trying to ride the media wave of a Tea Party movement to secure his future in politics.”
THIS IS MY RESPONSE
Like Ron Johnson I decided it was time to get off my ass and do something. Unlike Ron I did not have his money. Winning the treasurer spot gets me into the capitol. Whatever I do with that I will have to EARN just as I have had to do my entire life. Ms Sass I do not want to be a career politician. I want to fight to return Government of the people, by the people and for the people to this state. I know up in your office eveything seem hunkey dorey but there a many Wisconsinites that do not think their government listens to us. I have convinced many people that I will listen to them and they know me to be one of them
